Bad Luck Saturday!

Well, now that I've told you about the happy days of my life the past few weeks, here comes the bad news! That's right... Bad News. So on Saturday the 4th, I went outside and jumped on my dirt bike. No big deal, i do it all the time! I was going down the road from my parents, then came back. Went down a different road then came back, and that's when my day went wrong. I stopped at the four way stop, checked for cars, then started my turn left. I'm not sure if this all happened because my tires were wet, plus i had drove through sand or if it was just an operator error? But anyways, here's how it ended... I hit the gas as i turned left and the back wheel came out from under me. I caught myself and leaned to the right to bring the bike straight back up. Well.... I think i hit the gas a little to hard and my front wheel was going left to right back and forth way to quick for me to catch up with. And then BAM... There i was face planting it into the street, and rolling down the road. No helmet on, trust me though, I LEARNED & I've heard it from EVERYONE... It doesn't matter if you go around the block or not, something can always go wrong. So on with my story, i jumped up and my adrenaline was pumping! I had a hat on that flew off so i grabbed it then walked back probably 10-15 feet where the motorcycle was. There was a car coming down the road so I figured i'd better get it out of the way. Some nice lady stopped and asked if I was ok, and me being all tough said,"Yep i'm good!" So she left.... I somehow managed to lift the bike up, push it into my parents yard then i realized... My foot! No way was that just a sprain. I hobbled into the house and layed down. We ended up going into the Emergency Room probably about 45 minutes later. They did x-rays and a cat scan and sure enough. I BROKE MY FOOT! Not just some easy normal break, nope... I had to have surgery on it! Crazy i know. My luck seems to be running dry lately! So, here I am on the couch, with my broken foot. Surgery was on Wednesday so from Saturday till my surgery I just had to hang out until they could get me in to fix it. Rough weekend right!? You can see the tiny bit of road rash on my cheek, and I also had some on my left hand. But other than my foot, I'm just bruised up and sore!!If ya look close enough you can see the black mark my back tire left on the road when i turned and hit the gas.
When the motorcycle hit the ground the foot peg left this mark in the road. Glad i left my mark, proof of one good crash if I do say so myself!
As i was tumbling down the road the bike was tipped over and pretty sure i lost about half a tank of my gas! Here it is soaking up the gravel...
This picture is great... Not really though. My mom took this pic, she was standing right at the start of the black mark where I turned and I'm standing on my crutches right where the gas spot on the road was. But my body actually landed probably 10 feet past this mark. So basically what i'm trying to say is, I FLEW.
Now that the damage is done, I'll let ya take a look. Here's a picture of the engine, you can see it's a little scuffed up.
Here's me with my massive boot and crutches & obviously my un-lucky bike.
Surgery went quite well. Dr. Lee was impressed of how well it ended up going. I've now got some good hardware in my foot. Should be fun to have for the rest of my life. NOT! But i was probably more lucky than anything. It could have been a lot worse. I cant put any weight on my foot for six weeks!! It hasn't even been a week and I'm already sick of being laid up. I guess if anything i'll become a little more patience! For all of you that have called or come and visited or anything else that may have been done, THANK YOU!! You all mean the world to me and I'm glad I have such great friends and family taking care of me. Thanks again!!

Softball!!

It's been quite a while since I've posted, so here is what's been going on. I'm the JV softball coach at South Fremont & I'm loving it! I've met a lot of new people that I'm so grateful they've come into my life. The girls are so much fun to be around, there never is a dull moment! Here is our practice a few days ago... Our field was wet from the bad weather so we let the girls soak up the water!
Here are the girls diving into the puddles!

Another one

14 of the 22 girls on the Softball team

As of right now the team is getting better day by day. We've got our goals set high and there is no doubt in my mind we won't be able to achieve them. Varsity has won 5 games and only lost one. JV hasn't got to play many games yet but hopefully we'll start getting more in. They've won one game, lost one game. This season has been a blast, even though we've had our ups and downs. I can't wait to see whats ahead of us!!!
