In Loving Memory......
July 12, 2006.... It's hard to believe it's been three years since the tragic accident that took a close family member. I still remember it like it was yesterday. What I was doing, how I was at a friends that day eating Spaghetti & playing cards. I stopped at Texaco on my way out to my friends to grab some pop for everyone and saw a high school bud gassing up his motorcycle. I stopped and talked to him for a second, said be careful, then drove out of the parking lot. A few hours after hanging out at Kristens I came home to one of the worst nights of my life.... My mom standing at the screen door waiting to tell me the news of Jeremys accident. I was stunned. Nothing would come out of my mouth. I remember sitting in my cousin Colbys pickup for hours crying with him. I knew when I heard he was in a collision with another local it was my friend that I had talked to at Texaco, Michael. It hit me the second my mom had told me we had lost Jeremy. Nobody knew for sure who the other kid was but I did. For hours we waited to hear who it was and when we finally did, i couldn't believe it. My own classmate, my own friend. I'll never forget hearing they weren't sure if he was going to make it either. I remember seeing him for the first time at Jeremys funeral all banged up, black & blue. It was one of the worst weeks of my life!
But onto the good.......
Jeremy was always such a gentleman. He could always make anyone laugh. I remember the time when him and Linds had just been married and moved into an apartment in Rexburg. Jeremy invited Colby & I over for a sleepover! I'm sure Linds loved that!! We went and got pizza and all crashed all the living room floor.
I remember seeing him drive by the house all the time in his brown pickup laying on the horn and sticking his arm out of the window making sure i would noticed he waved after i had given him a hard time once that he needs to not be so stuck up and stop doing the one finger wave when he drives by and i'm outside.
When Colby and I got to go to Minnesota to watch the Crapo Brothers Racing Team race their snowmachines. What a blast that was! Mall of America, hanging out with some of our favorite cousins and our role models. It was so cool to be with them at such a young age and get to tell everyone, yep, we're with them professional riders, they're our cousins!
Or the time I went out to the motorcycle track by my Uncle David & aunt Patsys. Jeremy was there with some other riders and one happened to be Garth Kaufman (professional sno cross racer for those of you who don't know) I kinda stepped back and out of the way and watched for a while. After waiting forever they drove off the track and went to go grab a drink. I took a few laps on the track then pulled over by them. Mind you that this whole time I had my helmet on the whole time and they had no idea i was a girl. I pulled my helmet off and Garth said, "Holy! You're a girl!?" Jeremy with a quick response said, Yep, and that's my cousin. Quite the rider for a little girl huh? With a big smirk on his face. That is one memory I will never in my life forget. I ended up tearing my pants later that day from my zipper to my knee, but we can keep that part of the story to its self.
Jeremy was such a good father. I loved watching him raise Taylor & Bridger. He was always so cute with them and so willing to teach them anything they wanted to learn. Such as riding snowmachines while they were probably still in diapers. They were his pride & joys and you could see that everytime you were around them.
Tonight in memory of Jeremy a few family members and friends rode out across the sands to where the accident took place and the little memorial they have for him out there. If you haven't been out there everyone needs to see it sometime. It's awesome! So here are a few pictures to show you the third year anniversary of Jeremys memorial....

It was such a beautiful night for us to be able to go out there. As we were headed in the temperature was perfect and the sunset was amazing.
